A body is said to be at rest if doesn't change it's position with respect to its surroundings while a body is said to be in motion if it continuously changes it's position with respect to its surroundings.

Rest is the state of a body in which the body doesn't cover any distance i.e as time passing the body doesn't cover any distance.It stays at one place
Motion is opposite of rest. When a body is in motion, it moves from one place to another as time keeps passing.
