Reversible reactions occur in both directions of the reaction, but irreversible fails to do so.
Explanation:
1) Reversible reactions:
- These are the reactions in which the reactants when converted into the products, can again turn into the reactants.
- These reactions attain equilibrium.
- These reactions are relatively slower.
- For example, the reaction of hydrogen gas and iodine vapours to form hydrogen iodide.
2) Irreversible reaction:
- These are the reactions in which the reactants when converted into the products, cannot be converted back to the reactants, these are also called chemical changes.
- These reactions do not attain equilibrium.
- These reactions are fast.
- For example, The burning of fuel or any other thing like paper is an irreversible reaction.
