Differences between reversible and irreversible environmental impacts are:
- Reversible changes are those in which one substance changes into another form but no new substance is formed. it can be converted into the original substance.
- Irreversible substances are those in which a new substance is formed from the original and there is no going back to the original substance.
- Examples of Reversible changes are evaporation, condensation, melting, boiling etc.
- Burning produces ash so there is no chance of changing ash back into its original form so it is an irreversible change.
- Rusting of iron, growth of the plant and ripening of fruit are all examples of irreversible changes.
