Right to information is an act of Parliament of India to provide for setting out for the practical regime of right to information for citizens and replaces the erstwhile freedom of information act , 2002. Under the provisions of act , any citizen of India may request information from a 'public authority' which is required to reply expeditiously or within 30 days.

Right to be informed :

perhaps the most fundamental right of a crime victim is the right to be kept informed about the criminal justice system. A number of states do afford victims, a general right to be informed that takes effect upon their initial contact with law enforcement.
