Difference between ripple and ring counter

Ripple counter is generally using bistable multivibrator circles so that cache input applied to the counter causes that count to advance or decrease.
Using two - triggerd type flip - flop stages (t-type)
Ring counter is simplest example of shift register. The simplest counter is called ring counter it contains only 1or 0 which it circulates. Total cycle length is equal to no of stages.
