difference between RNA and DNA

DNA stands for Deoxyribonucleic Acid.
while,RNA stands for Ribonucleic Acid.
2.The helix geometry of DNA is of B-Form (A or Z also present).
while,The helix geometry of RNA is of A-Form.
3.DNA is a double-stranded molecule consisting of a long chain of nucleotides.
while,RNA usually is a single-strand helix consisting of shorter chains of nucleotides.

4.The bases present in DNA are adenine, guanine, cytosine and thymine.
while,The bases present in RNA are adenine, guanine, cytosine and uracil.
5.DNA is self-replicating.
while,RNA is synthesized from DNA on an as-needed basis.

there are many differences but i will tell you some major differences

1. DNA is double stranded while RNA is single stranded

2. DNA contain "deoxyribose" sugar while RNA contain "ribose" sugar

3. DNA contain "thiamine" while RNA contain "urasil" as base

4. DNA is present in the nucleus and small amount is present in cytoplasm but RNA is form in nucleolus and then move to the cytoplasm

5. DNA is helpful in transmission of genetic characters while RNA helps in the formation of polypeptide chain
