The RNA primer is a short strand ofRNA that initiates DNA replication. So, the primer that initiates DNA replication isn't even made out of DNA! Don't get confused about thedifference between the RNA primer and the RNA primase. Again, the enzyme that puts together the RNAprimer is called RNA primase.
