roasting IS the process of converting sulphides international oxides
And calcination IS the process of converting carbonates into oxides

Here, carbonate ores are used.

Whereas,

Roasting is the process in which the ore is heated to a high temperature in the presence of oxygen.
Here, sulphide ores are used.
