Difference Between Roasting and Calcination process giving one example of each .

roasting is a process where ore is heated below its melting point in excess of oxygen.
rosting method is used to separate sulphide ore.
calcination is a process where ore is heated below its melting point in absence of oxygen.calcination is used to separate carbonate ore.

Roasting :- Sulphide ore is strongly heated in the presence of air and is converted into metal oxide. 

Examples of roasting

Calcination :- Carbonate ore when heated strongly in the absence of air is converted into metal oxide
