The Police investigates any report of a crime committed.
The Police registers a complaint, investigates into the crime and arrests the suspects of the crime.
The Police should collect facts and evidence of the crime impartially.

The role of the Judiciary is to administer justice to all citizens, on behalf of the Government.

The Judiciary comprises of courts that take decisions on a very large number of issues.
The judiciary of India takes care of maintenance of law and order in the country along with solving problems related to civil and criminal offences.

The judiciary system that is followed in India is based on the British Legal System that was prevalent in the country during pre-independence era. Very few amendments have been made in the judicial system of the country.

Since police has the right to catch a theif , a smuggler or an unwanted criminal personality , but the Indian constitution states that they are not allowed to take decissions related to personal matters. if they catch someone , it is their duty to carry the person to the law court with some evidences and proofs.

The law court has been given the right to give justice to a true and a noble man and thus , it treats the person according to a doctorine of law.
