SLIDING FRICTION is that kind of friction that happens when a body slides over another body.
For example: When you push a wooden slab over a concrete floor.
ROLLING FRICTION is the force of friction which comes into play when a body is rolled over another body.
For example: Rolling of a car's wheel over asphalt.
ROLLING FRICTION is significantly less than SLIDING FRICTION because these two fall under the category of "KINETIC FRICTION" which is directly proportional to the normal reaction between the two surfaces in contact.
