EU has political and diplomatic influence.Two members of EU have permanent membership in United nations security council (UNSC)

EU combined army forces are 2 largest in the world.

2 EU members Britain and France has approximately 550 nuclear warheads.

EU is world’s largest economy.

EU has single currency.

Geographically members of EU belongs to same continent Europe.

All the nations of EU are well developed economies.

Countries of European union are less prone to terrorist activities.

EU nations doesn’t have large conflicts among them.

Because of these points EU has high profile in the world arena.

SAARC( South Asian Association for regional cooperation):-

SAARC entails 8 nations namely India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan,Sri Lanka, Maldives, Myanmar.

No country among SAARC nations have permanent membership in UNSC.

All eight nations are developing countries.

Each and every country has it’s own currency.

At present SAARC seems to be sluggish in nature.

There are a lot terrorist groups in SAARC countries mainly in India and Pakistan.

There is a big conflict between India and Pakistan regarding Kashmir.
