Difference between scaled based maps & cultural maps

According to the scale, maps may be classified into large scale and small scale maps. A map which shows a small area with detailed information is referred to as a large scale map. Large scale maps represent an area in higher detail; thus, map may contain more information but coverage of an area issmall.

(i) Small scale maps show a larger area in less detail. (ii) They are wall maps, or atlas maps. (iii) They show important features like mountains, plateaus, continents and countries.
