A sector is the part of a circle enclosed by two radii of a circle and their intercepted arc. The segment of a circle is the region bounded by a chord and the arc subtended by the chord.

Well they are concepts of Mathematics.

Segment:

1. 2 radius + intercepted arc

2. Doesn't necessarily include the center and thus, radius.

3. More or so like a border

Sector:

1. Chord+ area covered by chord, in a circle

2. Necessarily includes center point involving space. It always have a lines or curves passing through the center.

3. The symbol of 'watching', ' comment' and 'thanks' , when you answer, are examples of a sector, because they touch the center
