In series the current gets divided and all the appliances are dependent on each other.
If one fuse blows out the others also stop working while this does not happens in parallel as all appliances are independent

In series connection current is same amd in parallel voltage is same.
In series all appliances have common switch but different in parallel.
In series R = R1+R2....
In parallel 1/R = 1/R1 + 1/R2...
