It is a rapid process during favourable conditions.

Sexual Reproduction-

It is a slower process.

Involves fusion of male and female gametes.

The fusion of male and female gametes forms zygote from which develops a new individual. This process is known as ‘fertilisation’.

Mixing of genetic material takes place. Hence it shows great extent of variation.
