In shifting cultivation a piece of land is burned and agriculture is practised on it for some period of time till the fertility of the land is there. Then the land is left untouched for next few years.
In nomardic herding as the name suggests the domestic animals like goat, sheep etc are moved all around grazing. When one piece of land is used another piece of land is conquered

shifting cultivation is fixed to a limited area and they come back to the same area after a fixed time(after fertility of soil is renewed) whereas nomadic herding includes group of people along with animals who travel different places for cultivation.
