Short term adaptations :

1. They appear for a short period to overcome some specified stress or in response to a particular season.

2. They develop in response to a stress or season and disappear as soon as the strees period is over.

3. They are either heritable or acquired and have little role in evolution.

1. These adaptations are life long and remain present all the time.

2. They develop in response to struggle forexistence in order to survive.

3. They are always heritable and have a major role in evolution.
