1. Simple Lipids :-

- Simple Lipids consist of esters of fatty acids with glycerol.E.g: oils and fats.

- Oils are liquids at 20 degree Celsius and fats are solids at 20 degree Celsius. (all triglycerides ).

- Fatty acids are derived into two types - saturated and unsaturated fatty acids.

- Saturated fatty acids such as Lauriv, palmitic and static acid.

-- Unsaturated fatty acids such as Oleic acid, Linoeic acid, etc.

1. Compound Lipids :-

- The compound lipids consists of phospholipids.

- The phospholipids are Lecithin, cephalin, plasmalogens, etc.

- The important phospholipids present in animals and human tissues like in nervous tissues.

lipids are the compounds of carbon hydrogen and oxygen like carbohydrate but they contain very small quantity of oxygen in proportion of hydrogen
