Skeletal malocclusion according to Angle’s classification falls into class II and III depending on the position of the upper first molar to the lower first molar. In class II malocclusion, the mesiobuccal cusp of the upper first molar is mesially (anteriorly) positioned relative to the buccal groove of the lower first molar, while in class III, the mesiobuccal cusp of the upper first molar is distally (posteriorly) positioned relative to the buccal groove of lower first molar
