Difference between soaps and detergents ?

1.Soaps are made from fat n alkali by specification method whereas detergents are carbonic compound and not alkaline. 2.soaps r cheap whereas detergents r costly. 3.soaps r not suitable for delicate clothes but detergent is. 4.soaps don't produce lather with hard water and r not able to clean clothes whereas detergents clean clothes even in hard water. 5.soaps require lot of water to remove it frm clothes whereas detergents get removed easily. 6.soaps clean better in hard water whereas detergents clean both in cold n hot water.
