Social thought means general thoughts explaining actions and behavior of the society as a  whole, encompassing sociological, political and philosophical ideas.  They provide the general theory to explain the society.

Social theory makes decisions and generalizations among the different societies and  analyzing the modernity.  They are the analytical frameworks that are used to study and interprets  social phenomena.   It is a tool that is used by social scientists, social theorists relate to historical debate over the validity and reliability of different methodologies.
