Hi here is the answer

solicitation is the act of trying to encourage, aid, encite anyone in a criminal act. So solicitation can be both the buyer in the seller.
Lets say I tell you.

"hey I see that guy is giving you trouble...pay me and I will beat him up." I just solcicited you to perfform that crime.

The converse is also true. Lets say I approach you and say, "Will you beat up this guy for me for money?" I have just solicited you.

Prostitution is the actual act of engaging in sexual acts for money. So until the act takes place, it is only solicitation of prostitution.

Otherwise the police would have to wait until you started engaging in the act to bust you...would make it kind of hard on an undercover cop.

Solicitation is an inchoate crime just like attempt and conspiracy.
You can have soliciation of any crime, murder, battery, and prostitution.
