difference between sound and loudness??

sound is the unpleasent noise ....
where as loudness is excess of noise

Sound is a vibration that typically propagates as an audible wave of pressure, through a transmission medium such as a gas, liquid or solid. Loudness is the amount of energy carried by sound waves in the medium in which it travels.
