Mechanism is a combination of various links which are capable of having relative motion with respect to one aother.

Machine is the combination of number of such mechanisms used to carry out a particular taks.

For Example a car is a machine made of various mechanisms such as the wipers is a simple 4 link crank lever mechanism, piston crankshat is a slider crank mechanism, differential is a gear mechanism. Thus a machine is made of number of mechanism to carryout a particular task.
