SPEED
- Speed is nothing but the distance travelled by an object per unit of time.
- Speed is a scalar quantity because speed only depends upon the magnitude not the direction of motion of the object.
- Speed is always positive because it doesn't depend on the direction of motion of the object.
- If an object started moving then the speed can never be zero because once object moves then distance is covered which cannot be zero.
VELOCITY
- Velocity is displacement of object per unit of time.
- Velocity is vector quantity because it depends on the magnitude as well as the direction of motion of object.
- Velocity may be positive and negative as it depends on the direction in which object moves.
- If an object started moving then velocity may be zero if the displacement of the object is zero.

Speed :
- The distance traveled by an object per unit time is termed as speed.
- It is a scalar quantity, it has only magnitude.
- Speed is measured in meter per second.
- Speed can never be negative, it always has a positive value.
Velocity :
- The displacement of an object per unit time is termed as velocity.
- It is a vector quantity, it has both magnitude and direction.
- Velocity may either be positive or be negative.
- Velocity is also measured in meter per second.
