Speed =distance/time taken
Velocity=displacement/ time taken

Speed is aa scalar quantity
Velocity is a vector quantity

1.speed is a scalar quantity, velocity is a vector quantity.
2.speed can be zero, but velocity cannot be zero.
3.speed involves only magnitude, as well as velocity involves both magnitude and direction.
4.speed can be positive and negative,but velocity only be positive cannot be negative.
