Heya ✋

● Speed : -

➡ The distance travelled by per unit time is called speed.

➡ Speed has scalar quantity.

➡ Speed = Distance/Time.

● Velocity : -

➡ Displacement per unit time is called velocity.

➡ It has vector quantity.

➡ Velocity = Displacement/Time.

thanks

hi Buddy
here's your answer looking for

To understand this concept You should first know about the distance and displacement.

Distance :- The total path covered by any object is called distance. It is scalar quantity. and having the SI unit of metre.

Displacement:- The shortest path between two points is called displacement. It is vector quantity.
It also have SI unit of metre.

You can see the attached image.

Speed :- Speed is the ratio of total distance covered by the body to the total time taken.
It's SI unit is m/s.

Velocity:- Velocity is the ratio of total displacement covered by the body to the total time taken.
It's SI unit is m/s.

Basically, both are actually same but there is only difference of the distance and displacement.

velocity can be zero but speed can't (if body is in motion).

Example:- See the image that I have attached in my answer.

It show the circular motion. The body starts from initial position and finally reached to it's initial position again as the final position. So, here displacement is zero while distance is non zero.
