On a stand-alone computer, the operating system automatically sets up the computer. On a network computer, the computer is joined to a domain and the administrator has to specify the domain name and join the computer.

Difference between standalone and network computer are-

  • Network Computer-The programme is deployed to workstations but use a deploy folder that is created throughout a network installation.
  • A computer server environment typically involves a network installation. Using the deploy folder, the application will first be installed onto the server before proceeding on to the workstations.
  • Standalone Computer-A deploy folder is really not formed by a standalone installation.
  • When only one person or computer will be using the product and no other workstations or computers will connect to it to access the database, a standalone installation is typically utilized.
  • A machine used for testing or recovering data from a backup may be utilized in other scenarios.
