Difference between STD,PCO and ISD.
Answers
ISD,PCO and STD are major calling or telecommunication facilities available to the general public of India across the country. However, these facilities exhibit some major differences.
Explanation:
ISD is an abbreviated form of International Subscriber Dialing, which provides the facility to dial any international number from any part of the country without any mediator or operator required fr call connection.
Now,PCO stads for Public Call Office that primarily represents the public telephone booths located across the country. This is a kind of public calling facility available for general civilians or public without having any personal phone services or facilities. PCOs can either be coined or manually operated.
On the other hand,STD or Subscriber Trunk Dialing refers to telephonic communication between individuals located at different parts of the country through trunk calling facility by dialing the respective STD codes.Similar to ISD,it does not require the involvement of mediator or telephone operator, however,STD doesn't provide international calling facility such as ISD.
