Subsistence farming: In subsistence farming large part of the produced crops is consumed by the farmer's family. and the rest is sold by the farmer. This type of farming is done if the family is not able to spend much money for the crops. crops cultivated in this method are :- jowar, bajra

Plantation farming: In this type of farming crops with high economic value is cultivated for many years. for this type of farming a large amount of capital and resources are required. crops cultivated in this method are :- rubber, tea, coffee.

Mixed farming: In mixed farming cultivation of crops is done alongwith raising of domestic animals. Two or more crops are raised in the same area in this type of farming. some examples are :- Maze, legume plants etc
