The  Non synchronous satellite and Synchronous satellite revolves in opposite to each other direction.

Non synchronous satellite can't works as per the observer's convenience they works as per the fixed altitude and other inbuilt data

Synchronous satellite are rotates around and along with the earth

Non-synchronous satellites works like the space station or Hubble, they have fixed altitudes for their mission and that can not be changed by the convenience of the user or receiver on the ground.

Synchronous Satellite - there are two types of synchronous satellites and they are geosynchronous and Sun synchronous satellites. Geosynchronous satellites are revolves in geosynchronous orbit with the time duration which is similar to time taken by the earth to rotate. It is also called as geostationary satellites. These satellites are used for weather forecasting, satellite television,etc.,

Sun synchronous satellites are revolves around the earth and get its power source from the sun. they are used for military purposes and remote sensing . Landsat and Quick bird are some examples of Sun synchronous satellite.
