In mathematics, the error encountered in the calculation of observations is usually called experimental errors. These errors are sometimes due to human error or sometimes due to machinery error.
They are further classified as
- systematic error
- accidental error
SYSTEMATIC ERROR-
- when the error in measurement is fixed or in a fixed proportion, then such an error is called systematic error.
- It occurs mostly due to theory error or machine error.
ACCIDENTAL ERROR-
- when the error in measurement is always different for every reading, then such an error is called accidental or random error.
- It occurs due to human error mostly.
