They are the tax office which are actually accompanied with inspectors of Revenue . They are actually the administrative officer which are responsible for the collection of the land revenue. They are specifically for the tehsil level .
Patwari:
They are also the administrative officer but are specifically for the rural or village areas.Their main function involved the preservation of the lands records as well as the calculation of the revenues of lands.

A tehsildar is a tax Officer accompanied by Revenue inspectors. They are in charge of obtaining taxes from a tehsil with regard to Land Revenue. A Tahsildar also was known as Executive Magistrate of the tehsil concerned. During British rule, a Tehsildar was most likely a stipendiary officer of the government, employed to raise revenue. Tehsildar is also known as Talukdar in some states of India and as Mamlatdar in Maharashtra.
