Let the ratio of their (P & Q) ages be 5x and 3x respectively

According to the question,

P - Q = 14

5x - 3x = 14

2x = 14

x = 7

P = 5x = 5×7 = 35 years

Therefore, P's age percentage = x/5x × 100

= 7/35 × 100

= 20%

Answer:

let age of Q be x and P be y

therefore age of P is: y-x=14

y=x+14

now,

(x+14)/x=5/3

5x=3x+42

5x-3x=42

2x=42

x=21

therefore

age of Q is 21

age of p is 21+14=35

total age=35+21=56

percentage of P = 35/56*100=62.5%
