Difference between the stratified squamous epithelial tissue and squamous epithelial tissue?

the oesophagus and the lining of the mouth are covered with squamous
skin epithelial cells are arranged in many layers to prevent wear and tear . since they atta arranged in pattern of layers, then epithelium is called stratified squamous epithelium
