Annually parliament introduces new laws that are known as unpopular laws. When these laws are not accepted by the people and are felt to be unfair they face criticism. Such laws which are unfair to any group are called controversial laws.
Individuals may feel that the expectation behind the entry of such a law would be hurtful to their advantage and that the law is ethically wrong and unreasonable. These are called unpopular laws. For instance, Armed Forces Special Power Act, which gives extraordinary forces to the military to capture anyone on minor doubt in the conditions of North East and Jammu and Kashmir, is not adequate to the general population dwelling in those states and they need this law to be expelled.
