Explanation:

Early vedic period

In the early vedic period the society was divided into 4 varnas Brahmanas,Kshatriyas,Vaishyas and the Shudras

The transformation of one varna to another was easily accepted by all the members of the society and intermarriages as well as community lunch were also used to take place

Later vedic period

In the later vedic period the society was divided in the same way as it was divided in the early vedic socity's period

BUT

The transformation was strictly restricted. The Brahmanas were regarded and placed in high esteem followed by the Kshatriyas. The Vaishyas were treated in the mid-term manner but the Shudras were not treated as humans by the high caste peoples. And the main thing is that intermarriages as well as community lunch sease to be excite.
