Thermal decomposition-
The decomposition which takes place in the presence of heat is called as thermal decomposition.
eg. CaCO3—— CaO+CO2

Photolytic decomposition-
The decomposition which takes place in the presence of light or electricity is called as photolytic decomposition.
eg. 2NaCl—— 2Na+Cl2

Photochemical decomposition-
The decomposition which takes place in the presence of sunlight is called as photochemical decomposition.
eg. 2AgCl—— 2Ag+Cl

Answer:

A chemical reaction that results in the breakdown of one reactant into two or more products is known as a decomposition reaction.

Explanation:

The chemical bonds of an element must be broken by heat energy in the thermal breakdown. It is known as thermal decomposition.

The activation energy required for the breakdown process in an electrolytic decomposition reaction is provided in the form of electricity.  It is known as electrolytic decomposition.

When reactants are subjected to photolytic breakdown, light photons cause the reactants to decompose. Such a phenomenon is known as photolytic decomposition.

Reactions of chemical decomposition known as photolytic decomposition—also known as photolysis, photodecomposition, and photochemical decomposition—involve the breakdown and reduction of a single complex compound or substance into two or simpler compounds or substances. The activating energy of the reaction is provided by exposure to photons or light/photolytic energy.

Hence, the difference between the different types of decomposition is explained above.
