Geotropism on the other hand ishow plants grow in relation to the force of gravity. ... Geo means earth and tropism means growth so growth with respect to earth iscalled geotropism. Roots have +vegeotropism whereas shoot has -vegeotropism. Similarly phototropism refers to growth with respect to light mainly sunlight.

Thigmotropism:
It is a directional response of a plant organ to touch or physical contact with a solid object.
It is classified as Positive Thigmotropism .
It is illustrated by climbing tendrils of some plants , such as sweet pea.
Geotropism:
The growth of the parts of plants in response to the force of gravity.
The upward growth of plant shoots is an instance of negative geotropism .
The downward growth of roots is positive geotropism.
