Difference between thymus dependent and thymus independent antigens

thymus-dependent antigen. an antigen that requires T lymphocyte participation before an immune response can occur. Most antigens are of this type. thymus-independent antigen. an antigen that elicits an antibody response without the participation of T lymphocytes.
