Plasma membrane is the outermost covering of an animal cell and tonoplast is the outermost covering of vacuoles

 plasma membrane :-  plasma membrane is the membrane which surrounds the animal cell.it is also known as cytoplasmic membrane. it separates  the constituent of cell  from other cells. It is present mostly in animal cell

 tonoplast :- tonoplast is the membrane which lines the vacuoles in the plant cell. it separates the constituent of vacuoles from the constituents of the cell.
It is present in plant cell  mostly.
