The triple point of the substance is the temperature at which all 3 phases(solid, liquid and gas) coexist in thermodynamic equilibrium.For water, its nearly equal to its melting point i.e 0°C.
The melting point of a substance is that temperature at which the solid changes state to liquid at atmospheric pressure

- The triple point of water is 0.01°C whereas the freezing point is 0°C.
