Truth Table - is a breakdown of a logic function by listing all the possible values which can be attained by a function. It typically contains many rows and columns, with the top row representing the logical variables and combinations, in increasing complexity leading up to the final function.
Excitation table - shows the minimum inputs that are required to generate a particular next state or to "excite" it to the next state, when the current state is known. They are similar to truth tables, except for the rearrangement of the data. Here, the current state and next state are next to each other on the left-hand side of the table, and the inputs needed to make that state change happen are shown on the right side of the table.
