Difference between two natural number is 23. If we get quotient 2 ;on dividing the bigger numberby the smaller number .Find the numbers.

Solution:

Let x & y be the two numbers.

x>y

x = larger number.
y = smaller number.

x-y = 23.......... (1).

x/y = 2

x = 2y……….(2)

Put this value of x in eq 1

x-y=23

2y -y =23

y= 23

Put this value of y in eq (2)


x= 2y

x= 2× 23

x= 46

Hence, the two numbers are 46 & 23
