by second condition,

4x = 5y

x = 5y/4..........(2)

placing the value x = 5y/4 in equation (1)

x - y = 5

$\frac{5y}{4} - y = 5 \\ \frac{5y - 4y}{4} = 5 \\ \frac{y}{4} = 5 \\ y = 4 \times 5 \\ y = 20$

placing the value y = 20 in equation (2)

$x = \frac{5y}{4} \\ x = \frac{5 \times 20}{4} \\ x = 25$
