While most vaccines work by inducing B lymphocytes to produce antibodies (see below), activation of T-cells — another type of immune system cell that helps protect against disease — is also important for some vaccines.

Vaccines are the dose of dead or weak microorganisms given to the person to develope the immunity in the body whereas antibodies are the lymphocytes produced by the body of the person to fight the antigens (microorganisms 'invading' the body). Vaccines are given externally whereas antibodies are produced internally.
