Difference Between valency and oxidation state
- Valency shows no of electrons transfer and oxidation state shows the charge after the transfer
- valency doesn't have sign and oxidation state does
- we use valency while writing formula for a compound but not oxidation state
- In general we can tell oxidation State as charge on the atom but not valency
- valency can be only whole numbers and oxidation state can be rational numbers also
