evaporation takes place at all temp whereas vaporisation takes place only at boiling point. e is a slow process and v is a fast process. e takes place at surface only whereas v takes place throughout the mass of liquid.e causes cooling effect and v causes burn

Difference between vaporization and evaporation are as follows -

  • In both cases liquid turns into gas, but vaporization occurs at the boiling point, whereas evaporation occurs at lower temperature than the boiling point.
  • Vaporization process occurs more rapidly and violently, as compared to the evaporation process.
  • Vaporization can occur at every part of the liquid, whereas the evaporation only takes place at the upper surface of the liquid. (this point can be written as - in case of vaporization molecules at any location of the liquid can leave, whereas in case of evaporation only the surface molecules leave.)
