Speed=the speed of an object is the distance covered per into time.SI unit is m/s.

Velocity=velocity is the displacement per unit time.

So basically the difference between velocity and speed is that speed is a scalar quantity which simply means that it is the magnitude of the velocity,however, velocity is a vector quantity which means that when giving the velocity we must specify the magnitude and the direction of travel.
